The latest series entry will let players travel "up to 300km/h on routes that can stretch for over 200km", "take the controls of a wide variety of trains, travelling iconic routes around the world", and "build and share exciting routes with Steam Workshop".
Owners of earlier versions of Train Simulator will have their software updated to 2014 for free via an automatic download following the game's launch.
Railsimulator.com CEO Paul Jackson said: "I am very excited about the advances we have made with TS2014. We've developed a more personal and challenging career mode, richer creativity tools, and of course an ever more realistic driving environment.
