Nokia’s 6-inch phablet to be called Lumia 1520

Nokia’s upcoming 6-inch Windows Phone 8 device, code named ‘Bandit’, will be called the Lumia 1520 when it launches, according to the all-knowing evleaks.

The Lumia 1520 is expected to have a 6-inch display, and that huge jump in screen size is reason enough to warrant a similar jump in model numbers as well.

While the name confirmation doesn’t reveal any other details, previous rumors paint a pretty clear picture. The Lumia 1520 will be the first Windows Phone device to sport a 1080p display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, both of which will be made possible by the GDR3 update to the OS. On the camera side of things, the 1520 is rumored to sport a 20-megapixel sensor, with Nokia’s PureView technology taking responsibility for impressive image quality (though probably not as impressive as the 41MP sensor on the Lumia 1020).
